The passist Syndrome
Yesterday afternoon was a bit strange: a strong wind flows and I had no plans, but it was a Sunday afternoon and Sunday is the bike-day, so staying at home was not an option.
Moreover I decided to have a short ride around my area, with the Cuvignone pass as my destination, but during the trip I noticed that throughout all the ride I’ve never stopped the bike, until I was on the top of the pass.
Besides this experience makes me think about my approach to the ride and I understood that this behavior is common across a lot of riders.
So I called it “the passist syndrome”
My advice is to ride with a different point of view, and to think about the travel, the landscapes and all the things you see and feel during the ride. You will reach the top anyway, but with a completely different meaning.
